Did you find a key publication? Use this publication to find additional literature
References at the end of an article, lists the literature used in writing the article you found. In this list of references you can search for additional literature. The references always refer to previous publications.
When you find an article in a database, it says "Citations" or "Cited by". This tells you how often the article is cited in more recent publications. When you click on 'Citatiions' or 'Cited by' you will get the list of publications. In this list you might find more relevant literature.
Example of a publication in Google Scholar
Example of a publication in Scopus
The same article has more citations in Google Scholar than in Scopus. This is because articles must meet certain quality requirements before they are included in the Scopus database. Google Scholar automatically searches scientific publications on the Web and also finds preprints, research reports and the like.
