Finding data

Research Data Services

The Data Support team can help you to find and use data for your research paper. We offer support for proprietary databases that the VU subscribes to, but we can also help with other resources. You can reach the help desk by email and by phone: (+31)(20) 59 85166.

Please note: Due to the current global pandemic, we limit personal meetings as much as possible and offer our support by email and online appointments. The latter is done using video meeting software (like Zoom, Skype or Google Teams). Until further notice, off-line meetings are not possible.

With these restrictions, we prefer that you contact us by mail or phone to make an appointment. Usually, we can schedule appointments within a day. A digital 'walk-in' help desk is still available at the following hours. During these times, you can call at the telephone number above for support, and we will try to set up a video meeting, without the need to make an appointment. Take into account that these help desks can be busy, and you will need to wait some time before we can help you.

  • Digital Walk-in help desk
    • From January to February: Wednesdays 13:00 - 16:00
    • From April to June: Tuesdays and Thursdays 13:00 - 16:00

There is also a Libguide for Working with data.
