Data Support

The Data Support team can help you to find and use data for your research paper. We offer support for proprietary databases that the VU Amsterdam subscribes to, but we can also help with other resources. You can reach the help desk by email and by phone: (+31)(20) 59 85166.

The physical Data Support Desk is located at: HG 6B-02:

  • From January to February: Wednesdays 13:00 - 16:00
  • From April to May: Tuesdays and Thursdays 13:00 - 16:00
  • Temporary change: Thursday May 9th walkin-helpdesk closed (Ascension Day)
  • No walk-in helpdesk in June: Walk-in consultations for students with questions about finding and using financial-economic data sources will be temporarily suspended in June due to special circumstances. This means the consultation hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. will then be unavailable. In June, questions on data-related topics can still be asked via e-mail, but making individual appointments for instructions will not be possible. We recommend visiting one of the consultation hours in May, if possible.

It is also possible to make an appointment if you wish one-on-one advise and help, but this depends on personal schedules. When you contact us by phone or email we will try to set up a video meeting, or schedule an appointment. You can also try using the option Book a librarian.
