Manage your personal profile in Pure

This guide will help you update your personal profile page in the VU Research Portal

Getting started

There are multiple ways to create a new course record in Pure:

  • Click the down arrow next to Personal in the top menu bar and choose Editable under Courses:

  • Click the Add content button in Pure and choose Course:

Add Course metadata

Start filling out the general descriptive fields of the course record.

  • Fields with an asterisk are mandatory.
  • Headers of fields that are left empty will not be shown in the portal.

Developers and Occurences

You can either be directly related to a course as developer or you can be related as a teacher in one or more of the occurences of the course.
Developer section

You will automatically be added as course developer when you add a course record in Pure. If this is not correct, complete adding the course record and then ask the Pure Support Team to remove you as one of the developers.

Add a new developer using Add person.
Organisations in this section section correspond to the affiliations of the related developers - you can remove an organisational unit with the minus-sign or add a new one via Add organisational unit.

Occurences

An occurrence is equal to teaching a course during a specific period.

Scroll down to the Occurences section and click Add course occurence.

  • Fill in the period in which the course was given and the start year of the academic year.
  • Add the lecturers that were involved in this occurence.
  • Add or delete organisational units that the lecturers are affiliated to.

  • Click Create to add the occurence to the course record.

Keywords and Visibilty

Keyword section

In this section you can add some additional labels:

  • Study type: Bachelor / Master / etc.
  • UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

Visibility

If you want to hide a course from your online profile you can change the visibility status to back-end.

Please be aware that the course will then also disappear from the profiles of your colleagues.
